We
need volunteer counselors, lifeguards and medical personnel to make Summer Camp
2006 a success! No prior camp experience is necessary, just a desire to serve
and a love for children and the outdoors.
In 1958 Father Beiting held what was to be CAPs first summer camp for children on the banks of the Kentucky River.
Camps and Bible schools continued to be an important part of summer programming for children. Camp Andrew Jackson and Camp Shawnee offer 6 weeks of residential camps while the staff of the Rockcastle Youth and Teen Center offer 6 weeks of day camp activities. CAPs newest camp, Boones Landing, offer a summer camp for children in the north eastern counties of Kentucky. Over a thousand children participated in these camps each year, making new friends, learning new skills, and creating memories that will last a lifetime..
Each year hundreds of students participated in school-year educational programs presented by Camp Andrew Jackson. School age children eagerly participate in the hands on approach to learning built into all of the activities at Camp Andrew Jackson. Camp staff provide a variety of educational programs in which children learn about geography, diversity, science, problem solving, and communication.
Attending CAPs camp, at Camp Shawnee, is the highlight of the summer for many children in the surrounding 15 Eastern Kentucky counties. Established in 1987, Camp Shawnee continues to serve children, ages 6-15, who participate in activities such as swimming, canoeing, making crafts, playing games, and Bible school.

I have shown you all things, how that your laboring ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of our Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
